Mission |

| The Department of
Social Services provides financial assistance and support services
to eligible persons residing in White Pine County while encouraging
their independence and self-sufficiency. |

| Department
Description |

| The Department is
mandated by Federal and State legislation to assist and care for any
person residing in White Pine County who is in need of public
assistance, medical assistance and various other types of social
services, provided eligibility for those services has been
ascertained and verified. |

| The Medical
Care Services Division is responsible for
Medical assistance eligibility, Medical Services, Managed Care and
Transportation. Staff within the Division deal with highly
complex and time consuming eligibility determinations for the
mandated Medicaid program. |

| The Child
Support Enforcement Bureau is charged with
securing and enforcing orders of support for all families under
Family Court Jurisdiction. |
|
| Services are
currently provided to county residents through service center
operations in Ely, Nevada. |
